These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Grimace Score mobile apps, web pages, and API-powered features. They are intended for publication after the controller details below are completed and reviewed.

Acceptance

By using Grimace Score, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The privacy and face-movement consent shown in the app is separate from these Terms. You may not use the camera analysis feature unless you provide the required privacy and face-movement consent.

Age Requirement

Grimace Score is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires parent or guardian permission for your age, you may use the app only with that permission.

Entertainment Only

Grimace Score is an entertainment product. Scores, comments, labels, and generated copy are not objective assessments, medical advice, psychological advice, identity verification, biometric authentication, or health information.

Do not use Grimace Score to diagnose, evaluate, rank, shame, discriminate against, or make decisions about any person.

Camera And Sharing Responsibility

You are responsible for the images you capture and share.

You must not use Grimace Score to capture, process, or share another person's face without appropriate permission. Do not upload, publish, or share result cards in a way that violates another person's rights, privacy, publicity rights, or local law.

User Content

Photos and generated result cards are created and stored locally on your device unless you choose to share them. You keep your rights in your own photos and result cards. You grant Grimace Score only the limited permissions needed to operate the app on your device and, when you submit numeric face-movement values, to generate the requested score and comment.

AI And Automated Output

The app may use automated scoring and AI-generated text. Output may be inaccurate, subjective, repetitive, unavailable, or locally generated as a fallback. You should not rely on it for anything important.

Permitted Use

You may use Grimace Score for personal entertainment in accordance with these Terms, applicable law, store rules, and the End User License Agreement.

Prohibited Use

You must not:

• use the app illegally or harmfully;
• harass, bully, defame, or target another person;
• use results as evidence of identity, health, ability, age, emotion, or protected characteristics;
• reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the app or API except where legally permitted;
• bypass age gates, consent screens, payment systems, security controls, rate limits, or store rules;
• submit payloads containing photos, video, base64 images, EXIF data, malware, or unlawful content to the API;
• use the service to build a competing face-analysis model or dataset;
• misrepresent Grimace Score output as official, scientific, medical, or biometric identification.

Availability

The service may change, degrade, be interrupted, or be discontinued. The app may use local fallback comments when the backend or AI provider is unavailable.

Third-Party Services

Grimace Score may rely on third-party services, including Apple, Google Play, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, OpenAI, and hosting providers. Their own terms and policies may apply to payments, app distribution, ads, subscriptions, AI processing, and platform features.

Paid Features

Grimace Plus is governed by the Grimace Plus Subscription Terms: https://staging.facelab.me/grimaces/subscription.

The app must display material purchase information before confirmation, including the offer name, store-displayed price, monthly billing period, automatic renewal, cancellation, refund rules, and any introductory offer terms. App Store or Google Play payment, billing, cancellation, and refund rules also apply.

Intellectual Property

Grimace Score, the app design, software, brand, code, documentation, and related materials are owned by the operator or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

You may not copy, resell, sublicense, distribute, or create derivative products from Grimace Score except as allowed by law or the EULA.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, what stays on device, what is sent to the backend, and what rights may apply by region. The Privacy Policy is part of the user information made available before and during use.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and delete local data from the app or your device. We may suspend or restrict access where necessary to protect the service, comply with law, enforce these Terms, or prevent abuse.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grimace Score is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights, statutory warranties that cannot be waived, or liability that cannot legally be limited.

Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or loss-of-data damages arising from use of Grimace Score.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.

Changes

We may update these Terms when the app, legal requirements, vendors, or business model change. Material changes should be reflected in the app or website. Continued use after changes means acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law.

Governing Law

Governing law and venue: Droit français, sous réserve des protections impératives applicables aux consommateurs.

Mandatory consumer protections in your country or region continue to apply.
